As part of the governments stimulus package, all households are being offered the opportunity for up to $1600 of free insulation to be installed free of charge. Landlords are also eligible for free insulation, and as of 1st of September 2009, they are also eligible for up to $1600 of insulation.
To be eligible there are several conditions :
(i) You must own the property
(ii) You must be over 18 year of age
(iii) The property must not have any insulation currently installed
(or if there is , it must be of negligible performance , having a rating of R 0.5 or less)
(iv) You must get the entire house insulated , and pay any extra amount if applicable.
(v) You must not have received the government's solar rebate
